New ‘Got it’ educational card games that make learning to read and spell fun, will be featured on the Got it Learning stand at the Dyslexia Show 2023, in the NEC Birmingham from 24-25 March. The educational card games for two to four players have been designed specifically to help those with dyslexia and can be used in the classroom for one-to-one or small group catch-up sessions, as well as giving parents and carers a chance to support school learning at home.
The games are multisensory with the focus sounds shown in blue and picture prompt cards to give children the confidence to read and spell independently. A perfect ‘pick up and go resource’, the games also support concentration and social skills, keeping children engaged and giving them the confidence to take on new words.
In each pack of Got it cards, there are five, quick to learn 10-minute games: Word Race, Word Pairs, Word Switch, Word Sets and Word Match. In line with the National Curriculum and suitable for children aged five and over, the games cover important, frequently used words and simple word endings. There is an easy-to-use, online assessment sheet to find the correct starting point from the five available packs. Each pack has 40 word cards, which cover five different sounds, printed in a simple font. The eight Got it! cards give all players a chance to win, keeping up the excitement right until the end of the game.
Got it Learning was set up by Joe Rennison who is dyslexic and wanted to use his experiences to help other children to read and spell. The games were developed by Joe’s mother, an experienced specialist teacher with over 25 years’ experience and an OCR Level 7 Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties.
Got it Learning is on stand 67 at the Dyslexia Show 2023. As a special show promotion, visitors to the stand can get five packs of Got it Games for the price of four.
